Ethics Training Requirements

ETHICS TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Ethics and academic integrity training is mandatory for all graduate students who started their program on or after September 1, 2004.

This is a requirement of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research which must be completed in order to receive a degree. Each student is normally expected to complete the equivalent of at least eight (8) hours of structured academic activity.

The requirement can be met in the Office of Interdisciplinary Studies in the following manner:

  1. Complete a web-based course (e-Class) offered by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research (equivalent to five hours of training). The course is available at the FGSR website.
  2. Attend the annual ethics seminar presented by the Director of Research Ethics Board at the beginning of the fall term.  Attendance is mandatory (Equivalent to 3 hrs).
